Get well soon Obs!
Wassup yall! How was your weekend.
Mine was blah! Went out to the movies on Saturday. Saw two movies as a matter of fact, with the husby...
Sunday chilled at home...then Oba fell sick.
Having a sick child is the scariest thing ever. First his eyes looked really dull, and then it occurred to me that the lil boy had pink eye.
Took him to his doctor today...
First off i was frustrated with the wait time. You see, Canada has free health care and due to that, the wait times in the hospitals are like forever.
I am there looking at my boy who had now developed a fever and had teary eyes, and nyama nyama coming out of them.
I looked at him ooo and thought to my self, "Omo no be APOLLO this pickin get? Make i go spray fresh onions for the boy eye, the thing go clear one time one time!"
Then i snapped back to reality, when i heard the announcement "AU BAR Williams, report to Dr. Pollocks Office."
They prescribed some anti biotic and what not...and i am here trying to nurse my lil guy back to strength.
He is so down and all he wants to do is cuddle with his momma and poppa.
Kai, remember the days of APOLLO. Pink Eye ko, Pink Eye nii. Naija own was RED EYE...who dash monkey PINK. hiss.
And the thing is that the Pink Eye in this part of the world is also contagious only if you touch someone or something that is infected and rub your eye.
In naija...all you have to do is LOOK.
Just eye someone with APOLLO, the thing will super man out of the other persons eye and hook your own KPAM! Its a bloody wrap.
I will never forget, secondary school, some people were gallivanting with APOLLO and wanna be SUN SHADES...lol.
Me i was like "I am too much of a babe, a whole BOBBY TEE, i cant catch this thing now...Apollo does not affect correct babes."
I woke up that morning now...My eye was doing one kind...i looked into the mirror and there i was...I looked as if i used RED WATER COLOR and COLORED MY DAMN EYES.
I ran to my girls..."YOU GUYS I HAVE APOLLO"...you shoulda seen the shock in all their faces...that one of the most popular girls in school had been infected with the good ole razz disease called APOLLO.
I wanted to die.
I had to think fast...
I WAS GOING TO HIDE. IN THE DORMS...hell yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
Ain't no cot damn way i was going up in that assembly line looking like my boyfriend had beat hell and bastard out of me and ripped out my cornea.
The question though was WHERE would i hide. The House Mistress usually checked the entire dorms after we all left.
I tried to fit in my cupboard...lai lai...my nyash wouldn't let me. Nope.
Then i thought about it, i would go in the bathroom...hide in one of the shower stalls...sit on a stool so that when the mistress looked, she would see only the foot of the stool and that was it. The shower stalls had curtains...
So i stood on the stool and waited.
My stomach started making beats from one of Biggie Smalls latest songs...I hadn't eaten.
I mean there was just no way i was going to class...my boyfriend...fresh new relationship too, couldn't see me like this. Na yam? (Our priorities back then were effed weren't they?)
Then i heard footsteps. It was our house mistress...she had entered the bathroom. I held my breath. I felt her come in front of my stall...then she walked away...whew, and then she left.
I sat in that bathroom for a while, then went to my room and shut the door...and slept.
In a bit, a junior came to give me a love letter the boyfriend at the time, wondering where i was. Go siddon jare, your babe get APOLLO. lol.
So everyone came back from school...i was almost in tears...some told m to rinse my eye in salt and water...
some told me to spray onions in my eyes...tufiakwa...
some told me to rub palm oil in my eye balls.
Naija and remedies.
So which advice do you think i went for...
Yes my beloved bloggers, i cut up some onions and sprayed that shege in my eye. OMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
See screaming and running, with one hand over my right eye...on some "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKK, THIS SHIT HURRRRRRRRRRRRTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS...BLEEEEEEDING ONIONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN"
But by the next day...TADAAAAA! It was gone.
The onion worked!
That was the first and last time i had Apollo.
Get better Oba.
Momma loves you and yes you can sleep in our bed tonight.
